Hello all,

Just looking for a bit of guidance for barspins. Currently I can do pull up bars consistently and I can even do oppo pull up bars, on top of that I can occasionally do flyout bars, but there’s such a mental block most of the time when throwing them. I really really wanna learn hop bars, but I just feel like my legs are in the way and I don’t have enough time to throw them nor do I have the confidence to just spin the bars, like a super mental block. Any advice to get out of this rut cause I wanna start landed hop bars consistently. Thanks in advance 🤘🏼 for context aswell; I have cut my bars down to about 28” from 30” which has made a difference and my seat post is as seen of which I pinch when barspinning. Help me win this battle 😂

  1. I can’t throw bars but if I were you I’d keep doing fly outs for days until it gets more comfortable

remind yourself that low flyout bars can be lower than hop bars. the time is there, it’s just a matter of convincing yourself.

for me, I learned hop first before flyout. I did pull ups without pinching or standing on a peg for a while, but I’d caution against the idea that this actually helps beyond the bar spinning motion. what really helped was just getting fee up and actually throwing the bars with no expectation. once you fall a few times, the less you’ll be paralyzed in fear when it comes to the whole thing.

know that you don’t have to hop as high as possible to throw the bars. lower hops get you closer to the bar throwing position quicker, so it might make sense to start your attempts with low hops. stay hinged at the waist over the front end and even a miss should result in a pretty safe fall.
