I recently picked up this Pelizzoli stunner from a retired local frame builder of some renown. He didn’t have much in the way of provenance info, and my best guess at this point is that it’s a custom Microf C 40 built in the late 80s or early 90s for an “r. gemi” (visible on the top tube). I’ve reached out to the still-active Pelizzoli shop in Bergamo and am eagerly awaiting a response. Figured I’d post here in the meantime to see if any info comes up (and show it off a bit, obv).

The frame is SLX with a 27.2mm seat post, Italian threads, and 126mm rear spacing. There appears to be no serial number anywhere on frame or steerer except for the Cinelli spoiler BB shell’s number. No idea what “Electronic Control” refers to except for maybe Mavic’s early foray into wired electronic shifting. Oh, and the seat stays are curvy, but not like your old man’s Hetchins.

Since these pictures were taken I’ve carefully wet sanded, and the decals and patina look great. I’ll be trying to stabilize the original finish to prevent further flaking and preserve that patina before building it up… and I cannot friggin’ wait to do that. 🚲
