I didn't like gravel riding because I used to have a lot off issues with my knees, elbows and wrists when riding on even remotely rough surfaces, but it's kind of unavoidable here unless you want to be stuck riding indoors for 3-5 months every year due to snowy winters. Long story short, after mulling it over for months, I finally pulled the trigger on a Lauf Seigla in January 2025.

It was originally supposed to just replace my winter bike, but I've since put roughly 50 000 km (31 000 miles) on it in all kind of weather and terrain. I haven't had any joint issues since then, and I can't even imagine going back to riding my road bike with skinny tires anymore.

Most of my riding is long distance / touring stuff, and the Seigla (with 2.25" Thunder Burts) ended up being just as fast as my road bike (even on tarmac) for that kind of riding, which is kinda crazy.
