  1. Haven’t seen a shiny pair of DT neither, but maybe they are ceramic coated? Not sure about it though. Spokes are round? Do the 1400 not come with aero spokes?

  2. There’s an ID number on each wheel and you can identify them on the DT Swiss website. So the seller should provide that.

  3. If someone used an automotive product like Meguiar’s Surpreme Shine on matte carbon, it can take on a gloss finish like this. I always assume the worst from marketplace until proven otherwise though, and your skepticism is justified. Between the [recalls](https://www.dtswiss.com/en/recall), counterfeits and wear and tear from use.

    The hubs look real to me. Of course it’s possible to build wheels using only counterfeit rims, but that wouldn’t make sense to me.

    Seriously, if you really care, walk away. If not, and to a point, a carbon wheel is a carbon wheel.
