Hey guys! I just bought a turbo trainer for my old bike and was going to change my quick release axle to three one that came witch the trainer since my previous one was made out of plastic. When I changed the axle I saw that the new one was about 2 cm longer than my old one can I just cut the axle to the right lenght? It is clamping good and other than it sticking out it seems fine.

Sticking out is fine.
do not cut it unless u want to be unable to put ur tire back on

You can absolutely cut that excess flush with a hacksaw or grinder.
I’d try to clean up/chamfer fthe thread after so the nut still goes on and off.
