Hello, I've added a new chain after one snapped on my commute yesterday. With any pressure then chain is skipping on the bottom three smallest sprockets.

I'm not sure whether it's a gears and indexing problem, or whether they are likely word teeth that would cause this to 'skip'. I can't tell if the chain is trying to move up the gears or the cassette can't catch?

Any pointers welcome! I'll add some images of the cassette below…

  1. I had a similiar issue. Tookit to a bike shop, they reccomened that i change the chain and cassette.

  2. New chain on worn cassette => will skip, especially on the smallest cogs which wore the fastest.

You have to change the cassette.

It’s common that a new chain skips a little, it will stop after a while if isn’t a case of worn out cogs, wich in my opinion looks like. Other causes for this skipping are dirt and quick link not properly locked, check this two before buying a new cassette
