I’ve been riding for a couple years now and I finally had a nice tumble. A bug flew in my face and reacting to that distracted me enough for me to find the edge of the sidewalk and fall in the dirt.
I’m thankful for a couple things:
-
I’m thankful I was wearing a helmet and gloves as I’m not sure if I hit my head but I’d rather be unaware due to lack of injury than be abundantly aware due to lack of helmet and presence of injury
-
I’m thankful that my wounds seem only superficial
-
I’m thankful my phone/watch detected it and had I needed an ambulance it would have called one for me
-
I’m thankful for the several people who stopped and asked if I needed help
-
Last and probably least, I’m thankful that the bike made it out unscathed. It would have sucked to replace it, but even worse to replace me
TL;DR: had my first accident in several years. I’m ok and I’m grateful that it could have been so much worse in so many ways.

I’m sorry you fell, but you have a great attitude. I’m also happy to hear people stopped to help. I always wonder about that.
Get well bud, I’m glad your ok
Glad your bike is ok!
After you clean that road rash out I like tegaderm to keep it covered and healing quickly
Give you whole bike a knock test to make sure structurally everything is good
