I chipped the clear coat on my bike and to ensure it wasn’t a crack I sanded out a little bit of it, it looks a bit rubbish now. For the moment I’ve covered it with black tape, but I’d like to sand it down on the chain stay and reapply some matte clear coat.
What’s the best way of doing this without sending it to a carbon frame painter? I’m UK based as well.

Just put on a chain guard on the chainstay and move on. It will also make your bike quieter.
