  1. Excellent information! Just yesterday I removed a Beretta 1301 Tactical’s choke for cleaning, and had no idea what its four notches signified.

  2. Is it different from Invector Plus types? I have chokes from Browning I believe. I want improved modified but cant find website that ship it worldwide

  3. You can can imagine the notches represent how wide the pattern is. 1 notch is very narrow, as if only as narrow as the barrel, 5 notches is the widest. Like looking at the shot pattern as it comes out of the barrel. The more the notches, the wider the pattern. You don't even need to know the name as importantly. Unless of course someone asks what choke are you using. "3 notch" 🙂

IIIII- Cylinder. Widest. Just the "cylinder" of the bore nothing else.
IIII- Improved Cylinder. Tighter (improved) than cylinder.
III- Modified (reminds me of middle or medium) mid tightness even looks like an "M". kinda…
II- Improved Modified- Tighter than Modified.
    I-Full choke tightest, narrowest pattern.
    Done this since i was a kid…
