Hello everyone,
I’m starting to plan a bicycle trip around the world—a dream I’ve had for many years, and now the time has finally come to make it happen. As I’m still relatively new to long-distance bicycle touring, I’ve watched countless videos and read as much as I can to gather tips and information.
One thing I’m still unsure about is choosing the right bicycle for a round-the-world trip. I’m looking for something simple, robust, and easy to maintain, especially for remote areas in Asia or South America.
I came across the VSF TX-400

which seems to tick all the boxes for me. However, I’d be very happy to hear about any other good alternatives you’d recommend.
All the best,
Antonio

Great bike if you ask me.
Also dont overthink it too much. Get the bike, ride it as much as possible. Also, unless youre very savy already, do a course on how to maintain your bike (or learn it yourself through youtube).
Dont be afraid to take it apart screw by screw to learn how it is built and how it works so in case you need to fix anything, you know how.
If money is not an issue then I’d buy the Koga World Traveller Rohloff version. Owners who publish world tours on YouTube highly recommend them. Whereas my last seven months of foreign touring have been ridden on a 1996 Cannondale frame updated with 1×11 gears.
