My rear derailleur started jumping after swapping my chain. The chainlink is properly installed and the cogs look ok to me even with about 12k km on it.
Is this just a case of having to adjust the derailleur or could this be something else? 🤔
Video in the comment.
Thank you

Assuming this is the first time you swapped your chain, 12.000 km is WAY too long to keep 1 single chain. Your entire drivetrain is probably worn out. That means replacing even the Jockey Wheels of the RD.
Make sure it’s not a stiff link in your chain. Slowly turn it forwards and watch the jockey wheels for any jumps.
Did you also replace the cassette or freewheel at the same time as the chain? The chain might be skipping on the cassette causing the derailleur to jump. 12000km is a lot for a chain. Mismatched wear between chain and cassette will cause the chain to jump.
Is the chain compatible? Chains come in 8speed, 9 speed, 10 speed etc. if you put an 8 speed chain on a 9 speed cassette it will be too wide to work properly.
