Saw this on facebook marketplace, I am not a professional so as of now I am on a budget.
My lock bike shops have bikes for no less than $1k so I was wondering if this is worth the price for begginners.
I also want to go on 100+ mile rides and need something comfortable.
I am also a 6ft guy 180lbs if that helps for how to get the right size.

Depends on your local market, in my market that would be the high side of fair. Make sure it’s your size. It looks well kited if a bit dated. I would budget to take it into a bike shop if you make the purchase. Have to works done to it. Probly cost a couple hundred more in labor and consumable parts. What else can you get for all in $500? Nothing comparable that’s for sure. Good luck whatever you decide man, personally I think it’s a beautiful bike.
