St Gervais is less famous for skiing than its near neighbor, Chamonix. But when it comes to resort skiing, it is actually much better! With a range of altitudes and aspects, with runs of all gradings to choose from, there is something for everyone. From narrow tree lined avenues to wide open bowls, it has many great pistes. Here are my top 5, have you done them all? What do you think?

  1. hope you are on the mend. we love St Gervais usually stay on the patinior car park in the camper. here , le saisies, and as a starter after not skiing for a few years Passy..

  2. Over many years I have enjoyed some great skiing over the whole Evasion ski area. I’d agree with you that the piste from from the top of Epaule chair down to the bottom of the Chattrix chair is one of the best pisted runs in St Gervais. I’d like to hear what your top 5 would be at Megeve, Combloux and Les Contamines?

  3. Just cross referencing the map whilst watching the vid. Which cafe does the hot dogs and do you know the name of it, please? Theres loads on that run. You said opposite the bottom of the chair lift, but the only one that looks like its close to the bottom of a lift is the one at the mid station of the main lift. Is that that the one?

  4. The fairly new black Michel Dujon down to the Nants chair is a great run and in fab condition at the moment (skied it yesterday), we also love the clementines and the reds running off towards St Nicholas too! The return run to St Gervais is fun when in good condition and it’s great to be able to ski home, almost to our front door!

  5. Went to St Gervais last week and had a blast. Really enjoyed the variety and distance you could cover.

Took the left hand line round the cafe on Clementines early on and had the run all to myself, felt amazing!

One thing I couldn’t believe was the difference at the end of the day on the slope leading to the Bettex gondola – Mogul city! Hardest slope of the day😆

  6. good vid. pity you didnt show marmottes at all. as you say one of the best, but you didnt show barely any of it. nor Clementines, especially as it goes all the way down to the bottom of the Croix du Christ chair. anyway still fun to watch.

  7. I have to invitations to go skiing on this season. Saint Gervais or Andorra. Things I favour is well groomed pistes and lifts not too crowded. Any suggestions?

  8. Great video. We are looking at coming on the 28th March for a week. You mention that it's a low ski area. Are we taking a risk on that week? I know snow has been terrible so far this year.
