Caught me by surprise. I felt the bike slip when I started braking before the curve so I got off the breaks and hoped to ride it out but nope. Nothing on the ride up to that point had indicated to me that ice was expected but I now know to be careful on that transition from asphalt to the section with the tiles. Was slow enough that bike was ok. I was fine as well.

I saw that coming as soon as you wanted to turn, those cobblestones are very slippery and don’t offer any grip!
Studded tires. Studded tires. Studded tires.
I did the same thing in 2025 — twice! — and I’m still nervous about turning right.
I’m glad my work is a walking distance but I slipped at least 3 times coming home
amatuers. i don’t need ice or even a bike to slip and fall.
Just did the same this morning, elbow hurts like a bitch
I saw that coming. That is exactly what happened to my partner about a week ago. Transition from asphalt to cobblestone, during a sharp turn, no obvious sign of ice. He slipped and I nearly joined him from right behind. I think I only managed to save it, since I was going very slow, turning with only the handlebars, a trick I learned after slipping and breaking my shoulder two years ago.
