Looks cool! Check out the Velo orange gooseneck stem , may make the bars work for you since it would bring the bars closer and higher

  2. If you turn the corner bars upside-down, you get really mean looking back sweeping bars 😎

Cool bike! Couple notes re: using corner bars – Since you’re starting with longer vintage MTB geometry you do not want to use such a long stem. I dont know how aggressive you prefer your setup but if you want something aggressive but more confortable go with a 30mm zero rise stem. If you want to get them up higher maybe look at the Velo Orange Happy Stem in 90 or 110. But whichever direction you go you should really level out the “drops” more. You want that lower platform to function as your main hand hold and the hook where the drop meets the top already has a comforable angle when the drops are closer to level. The tops and the drops are going to be your main hand positions. you can also build out the “horns” to be secondary hoods but the hook of the drops is the most secure position on these bars.

They make extremely short riser stems in the 50mm variety that would probably space them where they should be with all the required spacers and angles adjusted.

Great setting/photography. Looks so right with that fine bike. Yeah….a bar that low would be a very difficult ride for my hands and shoulders. Experimenting with different stem angles and lengths can produce some unexpected results. Worth a try as they’re a bit cheaper than a new bar.
