In a static application you use an assembly paste, e.g. Much-Off’s Anti-Seize Copper Compound. (Yeah yeah, I know y’all love to hate Muc-Off, but it’s just an example.)
If you don’t have that, then a good grease that doesn’t dry out is more than fine. 🙂

Grease if it’s supposed to move all the time. Anti seize when you want it to come off again a year later.
