Today’s shift was the complete opposite of last week’s chaos, no monsoon, no disaster, no spilled drinks… just honest courier graft around Birmingham on a quiet Monday afternoon.

But even on the “easy” days, something always happens.

From a customer who wouldn’t answer the door (or their phone… or their Ring doorbell), to my mobile network completely giving up on me, to cycling miles out towards Moseley for a double Whopper order, the day still had its weird moments.

It felt good to get back on the bike after the holiday blues, even if my legs were absolutely not ready, and I’m testing out my new Quad Lock bike mount too.

Plus, I finally had the chance to show you the Swift cycle storage system I mentioned before (proper handy for couriers), and yes… I also cycled past the infamous Banana Warehouse again, which some of you clocked in last week’s comments.

If you like the real side of Uber Eats and Deliveroo — the graft, the calm days, the awkward handovers, the cycling struggles, the Birmingham lore — you’ll enjoy this one.

A quieter episode, but a proper vibe.

Expect:
– Awkwardly waiting outside a flat for way too long 😅
– Bad network at the worst possible time
– Two solid orders to kick the day off (£6 + £7.74)
– A full mini-ride across Moseley, Edgbaston & Digbeth
– A tour of Birmingham’s Swift cycle storage 🚲
– The return of the BANANA Warehouse cameo 🍌
– Courier tips, bike upgrade plans & post-holiday honesty
– Real Uber Eats / Deliveroo life around Birmingham city centre

  1. It constantly surprises me that people so far out of town are ordering from places in the city centre.

Those pull out racks in the cycle storage just need a little more force to push down than you expect the first time, to overcome the gas spring. I don't use them now because my ebike is on the heavy side to be lifting into place.

  2. Brum eaattttssssss!!! Yes mate. Crackin video as always and you’re improving so quickly. It already feels like you’re recording to the standard of the ‘big boys’ so don’t worry and keep it up.

I weirdly recognise you from being at shows over the years from that photo, mad!!

Had to laugh When the subtitles called it edge basta’rd 🤣🤣

And classic adhd moment down hurst street missing that pedal. more love now from an autistic/adhd brother as we’ve all been there 🤣. ❤️

  3. The banana warehouse btw was basically our central warehouse for fruit in the late 1800s as everything was delivered down the canal system 👌

  4. Quad lock is decent and looks clean! You'll get the e-bike sorted. Then you'll miss the pedal bike… The internet issues you had ahaha, literally the worst on a shift! I always ride around and the internet just turns off?? Come on UK SIGNALS!!😆😆You're a sound engineer? Let's freaking go ahaha 6:10 It's like the Milf deliveries, did I hear that right 😉

  5. Mate you gotta stop trying to faceplant the pavement lmao. Do we have to wrap you in bubble wrap? See about getting a conversion kit for your current bike. A whole e-bike might cost you three grand, but a kit will cost a few hundred! (Just editing to say Ming Moon is the absolute GOAT I love it there haha)
