  1. it’s a ZS headset.

most variants are either with a [removable cartridge bearing](https://www.bike-components.de/assets/p/i/640×480/998998c3c22f5653.avif) or with a [loose caged bearing](https://www.radversender.de/media/image/product/18751/lg/fsa-orbit-steuersatz-tapered-1-1-8-15-zs-no57-semi-integriert-9-teilig.jpg)

yours seems to be the somewhat rarer middle ground of a caged bearing with a captive bearing race. removing just the bearing from the cup might involve removing a retaining ring or it might just not be intended by the manufacturer.

if you want to remove the entire headset, just remove the cup without removing the bearing. if you want to just remove the bearing than I would advise to either resolve any issue you have with the headset without removing the bearing or by replacing the entire headset.

  2. Usually there’s a spring like a circlip holding the 2 halves together, if you’re lucky it’s on the visible side, if you aren’t you need to knock the cup out to get at it – at which point you may as well replace it
