Hey y’all!

I picked up a used 2023 Norco Fluid a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been picking through it as I ride to see what all I need to work on.

I’ve noticed from the get-go that the rear wheel sometimes makes a growling (I guess? Basically extra loud ratcheting) noise when coasting. Since it was initially only about 5% of the time, you could “fix” it by giving it a pedal stroke or two. However, today it seemed to really pick up in frequency. During my last technical trail, it was probably 90% of the times I stopped pedaling that it would make the noise.

I am assuming that my rear hub is on its last leg (I’ve l heard that the stock Norco hubs aren’t the greatest, which makes me lean towards that being the case). Where should I start looking for info about repair/replacement?

Since the hub I have is apparently a weak point, I figure it’s worth looking into upgrading, rather than just repairing. If I were to do that, what are the key things I need to make sure to match to make sure it’s compatible with my frame/cassette/everything else currently on my bike?

I’m happy to answer more questions about it!

Thanks in advance!
