Building up a 2006 Unit with a Krampus fork! The Surly 8 pack rack mounted standard to the 29er fork (2nd pic) was super high above the 26” wheel. Wasn’t a fan of the resulting wheel flop and huge spacing between rack and wheel so used a chainring to drop it to an inch clearance all around. Stoked with how it came out! My first hack-y build and wanted to share 🙂

Your version will have way less carrying capacity because of the angle of the struts. I would be careful with how much weight you put on that.
