I decided to get a vintage steel frame this summer as a fun toy around with bike but have been itching for a fixie, the rear wheel stay doesn’t have a lot of room for tensioning a chain. Is it possible to fixie this bike?

Yes but you may need to use a crank set tensioner or that thing looks like a derailer. With a bit of modding, you can overcome the need to have a hanging tensioner or those funky crank set tensioners.
