Day 1 of my July 2025 Bavaria bike ride. After arriving from Munich by train, I headed to Friedberg south of Augsburg and then followed the Lech river on the Romantic Road (Romantische Straße) bicycle route. Total of 57 km to Landsberg am Lech at leisure phase. Weather was bit rough at times, but enjoyable ride still.
Setup for 2025 was the following. I had 6 days holiday, Monday to Saturday. Flight to Munich on Monday, staying overnight near Hauptbahnhof. Rental bike pickup (ListnRide) on Tuesday morning. I had number of different route options, but made final decision on Tuesday morning and took a train to Augsburg. From there I first headed down to Garmisch-Partenrkirchen (2 days), followed by train ride to Mittenwald. I then followed the Isar river back to Munich (another 2 days). I had GoPro mounted on the bike and recorded the entire journey, so these Youtube videos are just the highlights of the trip. Enjoy the ride and check also my other videos on the channel.
