Adolf Hitler loved Nuremberg — it was there that he and his Nazi Party held huge, stunning military parades. After the Second World War, the Nuremberg trials later took place in this city, holding high-ranking Nazi officials accountable for their atrocities before an international military tribunal. Why did all this happen in Nuremberg exactly? Find out with DW’s Lukas Stege!

I visited both the Albrecht Durer House and The Nuremberg Trials: Memorium Nuremberg Trials. Both enjoyable. Had the little Nuremberger Bratwurstchen 3 nights at Bratwursthäusle and had great conversations with strangers at my table each night – the last night was a Friday and was at a table of local residents who come there regularly. But there I discovered the local liquor/schnapps called Burggeist. Very flavorful and a little sweet. I really enjoyed my 3 days there.
Very very dark past of DE, but US also had conceration camps for Japanese-americans. US was also a pretty shitty empire.
What is always giving me the chills, is how Munich (the capital of the movement) seems to get away when it comes to Nazi crimes. Every documentation points to Nuremberg, but not to Munich.
If you want know the future, look up the past.
My observation tell me that the FUTURE will look Almost exactly like past 1940.
ALMOST -Because every episode of history is original.

Nürnberg Not Nuremberg !🙄
This is an excellent and informative video.
Terrific video. Many thanks for posting.
We visited Nürnberg for first time last year. Our highlights were:
Germanisches Nationalmuseum
Albrecht Dürer Haus
Underground beer cellar tour
Love to visit again!
Quite insightful. Thank you for posting.
All those tourists must demand a world class waste disposal / water purification system.
That would be a good subject for a video.
Living here. It's a lively and tremendously beautiful city.
the second International court against war criminals must be in Mariupol, in Ukraine!
Was für ein Unsinn. Die Parteitage hätten in jeder anderen Stadt auch stattfinden können.
Not "was linked to". The historic link is always in the present tense. "…is linked to the Nazi era." (0:14)
Thanks! Great tour!
Very good video, cheers.
Thank you from South Africa Mr Stege. Insightful video🙌
Pleased to see the building being used and not demolished to hide history..
Heute sucht er niemand:)
This Guy was looking for missing people with Julia Leischik.
Excellent video, now I have a clear reason to visit the city!
Hiroshima Nagasaki nuclearly bombed , where is tribunal or trail ?
I liked this very much. Informative, too.
This is a very one sided biased report
Very informative!!!
A great documentary By DW, I was in Germany last Oct I would say it's a fascinating and a country which has lots of things to study and explore. 🤩
Very good tour! The unfinished building should however be completed and resources utilized!
A well done video, which had some facts about Nuremberg that I wasn't aware of until watching this video, I was hoping this video lasted longer
Not "Nurembergs history" is dark, but a part of Nuremburgs history is dark. Other parts are really great.
Thank you, id like to visit. i only know the name of Nuremberg from the trials so good to see the beautiful town.
Well done mate…👍👍
Hello
I hope visiting egypt .
NUERNBERG ○
The ICC is not about justice, it's only about stigmatizing and vilifying the only democratic country in the Middle East. Nothing about the bloodthirsty, murdering terrorists.
For real authentic WWII information and tours you have to travel with Tony Cisnerious, as he wins and operates AlpVentures. Most of these guys in the internet are bogus and include their own twist…Tony does reality.
I was in Nuremberg a few years ago and didn't know it was so famous for these unsavoury things 😂 so i didn't go to the… historical places
it is Nürnberg not Nuremberg
Wonderful video. I toured this city and the Dokumentation Center in 2012 (I think it was). Fascinating. I wish you would have talked about the infamous "Golden Room" that supposedly very few besides the Führer went into which was somewhere in the arch of Zeppelin Feld.
I'm a US Army soldier got out and,,, love Nuremberg. Flew back. Gastronomy, partying, culture, ladies, and "continuity" lifestyle. The best. 25 years of my life.
Its too bad, it wasn't all recorded.
This is not a flash in the pan.
There is much more beautiful places to experience.
I have visited Nuremberg a couple of times but your coverage here was much more complete. The concept of "World Courts" is a little difficult to fully be accepted. While I agree with the outcome of these trials, but as an American politics and other allied politics had to have played a role. Just pick the judges and you have a big advantage. Great video.
Very nice your
