Decent bike for riding on fairly good paved surfaces, but you can divide that asking price by two. That’s basically the price of a new entry level road bike. Which is what this is. For that sort of money second hand you’d probably want disc brakes or even a carbon frame/higher end wheels.

  2. 850 (USD?) has to be near the list price of a base spec Allez when that bike was new. Looking it up, it is a [2021 Allez](https://www.specialized.com/us/en/allez-shimano-claris/p/184447?color=293184-184447) that sold for 1000 USD new. Looks like they swapped out the wheels for a Hunt aluminum wheelset and they are trying to claw back that spend. Though I would rank the wheel purchase more of a sidegrade than a clear upgrade. It is a good bike and from the one picture it looks clean. I just don’t love the price, if you can get close to the 600-700 range I would feel better about it.

This is price new. Bike is fine but Claris is pretty much lower end in my opinion. This bike is known to be stiff… which depending on preference may be good. I have one but swapped my shit for Ultegra. Still I use it as a trainer in winter… rarely these days as I have more comfortable ride.
