Hello Bikepacker friend !
I need your advice !
I’m cycling from Dakar to Paris, a bit of road and a bit of track.
I’ve got some 1500 km to go across France before I reach my destination.
I had my bike serviced in Toulouse and the mechanic noticed a bit of movement in the front hub. He cleaned the balls, tightened the cones and greased the whole thing, an operation already done in Grenada, but this time he returned the bike to me with even more clearance, about 4mm of mouvement.
Do you think I urgently need to change my hub or should it last until Paris if I avoid the pistes ?
Maybe I psychose too much ?
Thank you for your attention,
Have a nice day !

4mm is bad, especially heavily-loaded like this. I’d go to another bike shop. If you know how to do it, adjusting cup/cone is a 5 minute job.
Should be zero
