I need help properly identifying this frame . I believe it is a 2001 Victoire classic but can not confirm . I’ve contacted Trek with no success. The top tube has the stickers removed but you can read the marks where “ Victoire classic “ had been . The remaining red decal is different from other red decals because of the white stripes top and bottom . I’ve seen red decals with black stripes and with rainbow stripes of the world champion . I’ve also come across a guy with a frame that matches perfectly but he does not know the year of bike .

Nice ride! I’m not sure of the year but I think you are right about the model. Trek definitely will not help you with anything (Bitter party of one) but Lemond frames from that time were definitely pretty high quality.
