Hi Gary! Where is the point when you decide to swap headsets to something more modern? Rare frame? Something you plan to ride daily? Shits’n’gigs? Just curious.
I would suggest the converter that doesnt have that weird round taper as it sticks out like a sore thumb on a rig, if funds permit. It was tough biting the bullet to pay a little more but it looks a lot better in the end. Appreciating your content all the way over here in Southern California.
I tell you what else it allows you to do, put BMX bars on everything… EVERYTHING… I've used them to run BMX bars on my 96 full sus giant, 80's Single Speed rigid mtb and my '79 Triumph 3 speed…
How to raise those bikes up has been racking my brain for months!😆 I really love the bikes but I can't ride them the way they are currently. I need help Gary!👀🤔😁

I do n⭕️t m!ss these old school stems and headsets. "YEAH❗️"
These stem adapters were kinda cool, though👍👍. I think they first came out in 1998 or '99.

Hey Gary – if I have a threaded stem that is too long should I hack it down or stack spacers in the middle? What makes more sense? Thanks
I have 2 Rockhoppers that are both too small for me. I'm guessing I need stem converters for both, but I need rise, almost twice the length of that.

I think I might need a couple of these. Then a couple of stems that extend out but has pretty decent rise as well.
THAT BIKES FROM NEW ZEALAND WELLINGTON PARAPARAUMU😂
Can you replace it with a regular top cap?
I put one of these on my cheap mtb in the early 00s. I had a cool bike with a big, ugly Haro stem.
Does this process convert it to threadless?
Shouldn't have sold my fixie
I've got a few and I'm having a problem with them not being stiff enough on the steering they turn I can hold my wheel straight and turn my bars
lol the bottom part dropped inside the tube and was a challenge getting it out
What’s the point? Might as well use quill stem. Plenty new ones available.
Does it work on dual crown forks?
how do i know what size i need?
Could anyone put a link to this kind stem adapter?
