  1. As much as I like Dire Straits, I’ve always been really surprised in the best way at what Knopfler did after the band ended. Instead of fading off as many 70s/80s acts did, he has consistently put out very strong music, nothing that commercial I don’t think, since I thought he had so faded. Then when I blundered into it, I discovered a whole dimension I hadn’t known existed.

    Maybe it’s because he isn’t as popular in the U.S. and all the Brits are saying "what are you talking about? Knopfler has always been front and center."

  2. Having it’s own sound, its own music style, its own singing style and its own guitar playing style in the same time…. Frankly speaking, I don’t know two guys who gather all these specificities in the same time!
