After my old electric bike died on my for the 2nd time in a few months, I decided to buy a new commuter.
Since I didn't want to spend a lot of money, a new electric bike wasn't really an option (my old electric bike was a used one and I never really liked it).

So an actual road bike was what I was looking for. I went to look at some used models, and they were really nice and light, but I'm new to this type of bike so didn't want to risk to buy a really awesome looking bike that didn't turn out to be good commuters.

So I did the most boring thing I could do and went to decathlon and bought an rc120. Yes it's aluminium and not carbon. Yes it's a lot heavier than all other bikes I tested. It also doesn't look that cool.

But it's mine and it's perfect for what I need. On the frame it says tested in Flanders, and I live right in the middle of the tour of Flanders. All the famous climbs are within half an hour away, so I also needed something where I knew I'd have enough gears to make it to work.

  1. You say it doesn’t look that cool, but I actually think it looks really cool as a metal bike. Lots of alluminium frames trying to look like carbon frames, but the best looking ones just own it and pull it off elegantly. This is a sweet ride!
