id use a dremel with a small cut off wheel instead of an angle grinder, but the idea is the right one.

Does an angle grinder cut metal? The simplest solution would be to not tighten it to the point of crushing the pipe in the first place… if you gotta tighten something that much then something else is wrong, is there grease on the pipe? I hope the bikes that have been in this stand haven’t had bolts over tightened like this…

First Idea: Hold the bolt with some pliers (on the nut end) and turn the nut. If that does not work, I would follow up with what you already got in the workshop. If you have screw extractor bit, you can try these and if you got an angle grinder, this should definitely do the trick

I agree with your idea. Come in from the back there and cut that bolt.

Either that or still it out using a bit that’s a little smaller diameter… pop right out

Hammer a torx bit in the allen side, grip the nut with grip-pliers (the locking ones when you press down) and you should be able to open it.

Had same issue with stem.Dremel in the centre of the bolt and top week be easy to come out. Bottom half long nose pliers

Use an appropriately sized socket wrench on the nut end and cut a slot for a flat head to fit on the Allen side.
But honestly this seems like a terrible bolt design for something that’s supposed to be adjustable.
