Hi all, trying to learn more bike maintenance of my own but I've got an issue and can't tell whether I can do it myself or if it's worth going to a shop and letting them have at it.
My freehub is engaging instead of letting the wheel spin. If I spin it up and let the pedals go the usual ticking of the freehub stops and the drivechain re-engages. If I spin the wheel by hand as though I wase riding (no pressure on the pedals) the drivechain engages. If I hold the pedals still it works, but I'm thinking there's a lot more friction than there should be.
I have enough tools that I can get the cassette off, (did this recently and the freehub body was full of gunk which I tried to clean out with some brake cleaner) but getting this exact hub body apart seems to require more specific tools from what I've found online.
If it helps I belive the hub is this and the hub body is this, they came default on my Contend AR 2.
Is there a simple enough way to get this freehub apart and clean it up, or would I do better to just go to the shop and ask them to clean/replace it?
Freehub isn't very 'free' anymore

Usually freehub can be dismountled with hexagon key 10mm (sometimes 12mm) – remove hub shaft and bearings and you will see it inside. Then you need a special key to disassemble freehub itself. It is quite simple job, just need your attention and neatness. Clean it, lube, and assembly in a reverse order.
Did you follow up the brake clean with a lubricant?
sometimes the freehub has a rubber o-ring that gets some dirt on it and grease dries out and thats the one that grabs on.
New bearings and a freehub service
your freehub body is gummed up. you need to flush it with thin oil, like tri-flow.
