Quick background reunited with old high school friend “Rider 1” he use to bmx as a teenager I started bmxing roughly 2 years ago. Anyways we had a blast together he’s got great pop and notice his rear wheel rides out the jump til the end I saw him do this on multiple grass gaps. Me “Rider 2” my rear wheel always comes off early. I’m “Rider 2” any tips would be appreciated. Basically I’m asking am I doing something wrong or basically everyone rides differently obviously. We are both 37 share the same birthday weirdly.

Green was more satisfying to watch
Rider 1. Not great at giving advice but looks like rider 2 pulled up too soon and made it more like a bunny hop
Yeah you’re bunny hopping once your front wheel hits the kicker.
The action you are going for if you want to fix that is the same as pumping in a ramp. Basically come into it with your legs bent & as your front wheel hits the kicker & you pull up straighten your legs & push your back wheel into the ground the same as you would when pumping, then once you feel you back wheel kick off the ramp bend your legs again to suck the rear wheel up into your arse so the bike levels out at the top of the jump.
It’s like a rhythmic timing thing. Just slow it down from the fast bunny hop rhythm, & let yourself feel the “doonk, doonk” as your wheels impact the ramp.
Just relax a little, let the bike flow, & let the ramp do 90% of the work, instead of trying to manhandle the bike into the air like you would with a bunny hop.
1 or 2 psi?
