They just connected it, and EXTENDED IT into Rhode Island at the Blackstone River. They literally built part of their shred-use path in another state. I am doing my darndest to get my Woonsocket City Council and Mayor to continue that thru the city. The RIDOT had about $4.7M reserved to build a couple bridges and continue the path but that plan was nixed when someone pointed out proximity to power lines (a shit argument IMO because the Kendrick Ave bridge literally touched them for the 100 years it was open… closed it this year). The new plan is to do painted and protected bike lanes down and around the wide streets. it’s less direct than the bridge plans but $4,700,000 can build a lot of bike lanes and encourage a lot of people to pedal.

Thanks for this info. I’m looking forward to the Northern Strand Extension through downtown Lynn. That will surely make our beach trips more enjoyable!
