My mother bought this in 1971, apparently original everything. Anyone know if it’s worth repairing? She’s wanting to toss it and I’m trying to see if I can find the space to restore it.
It doesn’t look like it needs much. It is never gonna be a serious riding tandem, at best it is going to be a crusin’ ’round the neighborhood bike. Go through it well once and it will be good for decades.

C’mon man, it would make your mom so happy to see her tandem brought back to life. Maybe the two of you can even go for a ride together once it’s finished.

If you’re into the ebay thing it’s worth it to part out. That handlebar stem alone usually goes for like 40 bucks. Otherwise I’d definitely fix it up. Schwinn paint and chrome is legendary, they usually clean up really nice. Probably just needs tires tubes and bearing grease.
