Need help: Brake lever hoods for old Shimano 105 (1990s) + choosing threaded headset

Hi everyone,

I’m restoring an early 1990s road bike with Shimano 105 components and have two questions:

1️⃣ Brake lever hoods

I’m looking for rubber hoods for old Shimano 105 brake levers (non-STI, early 90s). The original rubber is worn out or missing.

Does anyone know:

• The exact model of these levers

• Compatible replacement hoods

• Universal or cheap Chinese options that fit (AliExpress, Taobao, eBay)

2️⃣ Threaded headset

The bike has a threaded headset (most likely 1 inch), and I’m not sure which modern or budget headset will fit.

Questions:

• How to confirm if it’s 1″ or 1⅛″

• Any cheap but reliable options available from China / online (AliExpress, eBay) for an old road bike
