From the moment I stepped into the grand foyer, I was impressed by its elegance and charm, especially the stunning ballroom, which exudes classic Victorian glamour.

I booked a single room, and while the hotel’s public spaces lived up to expectations, the room itself left me a little disappointed, lacking the same attention to detail.

what’s it like to stay inside of a newly refurbished brania Hotel I’m outside Prince of Wales in Southport there’s been reports of a stylish renovation in this hotel a nice Ballroom I’ve heard some good things about the hotel let’s go in and see for ourselves we’re in Southport today it’s a beautiful Victorian building I absolutely love the entrance the sign looks a bit old and tired on the outside though take a look at this windy today oh and I like the flooring in here it’s very cool oh nice it’s a nice reception nice carpet how’s that britania feel to it I like it I booked in for Z has this been renovated recently it has indeed most of the rooms have been all down we’re just waiting on a few more of the rooms in in the office oh fantastic that’s the one yeah run back to the car to get my car realized start ha well that’s a beautiful entrance to this brania hotel you having a nice day are you having a nice day weather oh yeah it’s crazy isn’t it the hailstones have just started coming down have you had any food so far any what any food no I’m waiting for some friends to pick me up to take me all right have a great evening thank you you oh cra well we’ve got some interesting things to show you downstairs but first off let’s go and check out the room have you been here before no what’ you think of the hotel I thought it was rather nice one we’re supposed to be in we’ve looked at down the road it was called the scar Brook oh the SK Brook yeah Scaris Brook I’ve been there before this is a lot better it’s the same company as well but this is this looks to a higher standard I mean even the fo looks is lovely that one down there we just seen it as we walked up the road that needs a bit of work down your room’s okay and the food is good the food is good I might have dinner here actually good check it out all right nice to meet you guys take care I have stayed in the scars brick or the SK brick I wasn’t too impressed at that hotel I can understand why that lady and that gentleman are more pleased here it is imperfect as you can see we have some damp ceilings up there even got a can down here to collect anything that falls and I don’t know the reason and behind the fact there’s two chairs randomly in the hallway so a little interesting fact about this hotel it’s the first venue The Beatles before they were the Beatles played in outside of Liverpool big hotel this one 311 here we go no smoking fantastic let’s go and check it out okay it’s a small RAR bit of a dumb smell and it doesn’t look highly renovated to me but it looks okay in fact the wallpaper right there on the headboard is lovely I like the lights too but in and of itself I was hoping for something maybe a little bit better than this very small it is a single room trying to save some money today paid £57 it’s of decent quality it looks like it’s been painted not too long ago and that wallpaper is definitely new what I would say though is do you think that’s enough wallpaper for the whole room I don’t know I mean the paint’s all right like it’s just would just be nice to see maybe a little bit more but more importantly how comfortable is the [Music] bed you know what for a single bed that’s very comfortable I go into hotels all the time I’m I’m not lying to you guys it’s genuinely pretty comfortable well we do have a UV light with us to check the bed later let’s have a look at our first impressions of the bed and there’s a bit of Speck of Speck of something there that’s quite a thick mattress topper which is good news cuz if the mattress underneath is dirty then that’s good for us it’s it looks new relatively new I’ve had this mattress before over branas often when I see this mattress it has a plastic covering over it like vacuum sealed you could say this one isn’t but on first impression it looks relatively clean we’ll get a UV light on it when it goes dark and uh double check that but for now I’m quite happy with the mattress let’s have a little look at the bathroom now despite the noise this bathroom is very newly renovated must be so annoyed that people say they never put any money into the hotels because I’ve been in quite a few branas they are renovated what I’ll say is the floor is ugly and if you look down here you can see the flooring is actually separated from the bottom of the bath other than that lovely bathroom quite luxury really and toilet oh no we have some skip marks inside of the loop me personally I get over that I don’t think it’s too bad of a room or a hotel it does smell like somebody has had a smoke in there at one point and what’s this little room here ah it’s not a room it’s a coverboard doesn’t even look like one you can’t see inside I mean you’ve got the light on but as you can see this hotel is pretty dark well I actually find this Lobby very impressive impressive they’ve restored antique parts of the hotel really well as you can see and have some nice modern wallpaper at the same time we’ll show you more at the hotel afterwards but first it’s time to go and get something to eat cuz dining stops at 700 [Music] p.m. well well you have an or you can eat for £5 I believe that’s chicken or turkey looks all right maybe there think what youd expect for15 looks pretty good wow and even check out that fruit salad that salad that all looks really good it’s impressive well the multiple options they have here are really impressive to be fair we have beef casserole the kid and me decided to get some breaded chicken onion rings and wedges and there’s also roast chicken or turkey there we have soup to start off with and just look at the amount of salad options to we you have fruit salad you have CAW pastel pasta mixed beans and a nice little mixed salad there looks great let’s get a quick little review of everything so we’ll start off with the soup 7 out of 10 let’s try some of this chicken I we’ll go with chicken we go with [Music] chicken it’s Tey looked a bit dry up there but it tastes 7 and 1/2 out of 10 we’ll try the [Music] casserole the tur is really nice I’d say yeah is okay don’t think I get it again and of course wedges and breaded chicken just tastes good everywhere High impressed with the salad options really am and your dessert options is toffee pudding got some cream there as well or you can take one of these a strawberry trifle nice well some real nice features to this hotel nice and classical love the fireplaces they’re very Grand you take a look at that favorite place must be the entrance though with the clock up there we have a cloak room in there and I’ve heard that the ballroom is absolutely amazing please be open a it’s closed we’re in we’re in my word what a venue wow oh that is lovely that is remarkable you know what I’ve been in some ballrooms and some really nice branas this is definitely one of the best that is gorgeous I’d be more than happy to come to a wedding or function here I wonder how much something like this would cost W absolutely magnificent so yeah all the criticism brania get you got to give them props on this one this is very impressive now there are multiple stairways I don’t know what they’re for but yeah we have some lights there I don’t really think it’s needed oh yeah this is a bit of class in this britania we did just sneak through the side so let’s come back out I think ofan should take notes of the work that’s been put in to restore this hotel to its fora good I love that that’s really cool what’s this another venue room the interational sweet is called again again really cool room and this mirror has been signed by some of the golfers who stayed here during the Royal bdale just 2008 now I don’t know much about golf but I’m sure you guys will know same thing Royal Beale 1983 some of you golf fans are recognize them how are you doing you having a nice day yes lovely yes first time here no no no no been a few times are you from the local area uh no West gby oh fantastic what do you like about this hotel very nice yeah I’m impressed I’ve had a good time [Music] yeah are you into the golf for anything no neither am I but it’s pretty cool that they have um they have the play the pl in the Royal back there sign their mirrors here St right it’s time for a little UV light check just before we go for a little run to run off that meal I’ve been thly impressed with this hotel I think it’s one of the best I’ve stayed in britania that is I’ve stayed in nice hotels well we’ve been a naughty boy and we left the light on yeah gr fber wouldn’t be too happy all right oh I’ve got a brand new UV light and I’m really impressed with that it’s off Tik Tok shop actually yeah let’s whip that off there and our first layer which is usually all right looks once again all right so we’ll take that first layer off and then whe go in again there’s a little bit of mess there but our second layer looks also okay now we have multiple now we actually have multiple layers on here and this is number three three out of threee so far they’re doing well just one more well they got a full house again again very clean very clean I’m impressed we’ll do the mattress in a second let’s just check these pillows what a bit of stage there but very minimal you can see there there’s a little bit wonder if I take it out to the pillowcase oh yeah there’s quite a bit of stain on there yeah there’s quite a lot on this side arguably worse and now for the mattress well that’s a lot worse when I put the UV light on the bed as you can see you stains are coming up all over stains I previously didn’t think we there interesting well I for one thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Prince of Wales Hotel in Southport I would definitely come back I would bring the misses here and I think there’s a lot to be admired about this britania hotel now from the outside it is a nice Victorian building but probably not the best Brana I think the adelfia from the outside is amazing I think the grand scabra from the outside is amazing but from the inside this one definitely competes with the rest the room was imperfect and I wasn’t really that impressed at the same time I wasn’t really that bothered I think the food here is probably the best food I’ve saw inside of a britania and I booked in for £57 I definitely think it’s worth that price tag maybe I’ll be back but
