Riding my bike through Austria has been one of the everyday joys I’ll miss the most πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ή

Here, cycling feels safe βœ…πŸš¦ The roads are built for it, and people truly respect bikes as part of everyday life πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸš²

As I get ready to move back to Portugal, I’m excited to be home πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ή … but also a little sad πŸ˜” Because the truth is: Portugal isn’t as prepared for cycling πŸš«πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ and many people still drive without much care for those on bikes πŸš—πŸ’¨

I’m 30 years old and I’ve never owned a car 🚫🚘 In Lisbon and Shanghai I relied on public transport πŸš‹πŸš‡ In Austria, I used my bike almost every day 🧑 I’m not looking to live in a city that forces us to need a car just to move around 😩

It’s hard to give up something that brought me so much peace πŸ•ŠοΈ independence πŸ’« and presence 🌿

I hope one day we can build cities in Portugal where riding a bike feels as safe and normal as it should πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ€žπŸΌπŸŒπŸ’›

Until then… I’ll miss this. A lot 😒

Which means of transportation do you use to commute? πŸš‹πŸš‡ 🚘
