Riding my bike through Austria has been one of the everyday joys Iβll miss the most π΄ββοΈπ¦πΉ
Here, cycling feels safe β π¦ The roads are built for it, and people truly respect bikes as part of everyday life ππΌπ²
As I get ready to move back to Portugal, Iβm excited to be home π΅πΉ β¦ but also a little sad π Because the truth is: Portugal isnβt as prepared for cycling π«π΄ββοΈ and many people still drive without much care for those on bikes ππ¨
Iβm 30 years old and Iβve never owned a car π«π In Lisbon and Shanghai I relied on public transport ππ In Austria, I used my bike almost every day 𧑠Iβm not looking to live in a city that forces us to need a car just to move around π©
Itβs hard to give up something that brought me so much peace ποΈ independence π« and presence πΏ
I hope one day we can build cities in Portugal where riding a bike feels as safe and normal as it should π΄ββοΈπ€πΌππ
Until thenβ¦ Iβll miss this. A lot π’
Which means of transportation do you use to commute? ππ π
