Hey everyone. Looking for some advice on switching my Norco hardtail from a 100mm Judy coil QR fork to a 120mm air fork with a boost thru axle. Some forums say you can get a conversion kit but it seems you have to have specific end caps. I'm thinking it might be easier to just get a new front hub like this. I'm looking at a second-hand Marzocchi Bomber Z2 or Manitou Machete. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Any suggestion on forks would be much appreciated as well. Thanks!

A few years ago I went through the same thing you are going through. I end up getting a used boost spacing fork and a used boost wheel. It just didn’t seem worth it to buy a hub and lace it to the existing rim. In my experience, it’s better to spend your money on the rear hub than the front.
I also went a bit extra and purchased a geo shifting headset from Works Components while I was at it. The bike I upgraded had a straight steerer tube. Part of the the geo shift headset was having an external lower cup that allowed me to use a tapered steerer fork. The external cup brought the bottom bracket hight back up a bit to counter the drop from slackening the head tube.
New wheel and new fork (even if just new to you) is definitely easier and probably cheaper than new hub and spokes and relacing. But it may make even more sense to just sell the bike and put the wheel and fork money towards a new to you bike with a boost fork, boost rear triangle, modern geo, etc. Good deals on used bikes.
