I have been using my new fate bike to run light errands as well as just go out for exercise. Riding around cars a lot more than I am used to. I have already had so many instances in bike lane crosswalks of almost being T-boned by cars that I felt like this may be a worthwhile accessory. I use front and rear lights and follow traffic signals but I guess that's not enough for drivers to be prepared for bikers. I know this isn't preventative, but I do expect it to be cathartic and entertaining.
