  1. Can you go see it and give it a ride?

Either way, brand new with free shipping and warranty is only $1,200 more, which is what I would suggest.

  2. I’d start by figuring out if it is the right bike. a great deal on the wrong bike is not a good deal. you say you are new to cycling. that is a fairly aggressive fit, with little to no room for adjustment. the fork has been cut low, and it looks like a one piece bar/stem. Are you quite flexible with a strong core?

it’s a good bike, but it’s really not a beginner friendly one.

  3. See if you can check the QR code or S/N with Canyon. It is likely legit though unless there is reason to think it isn’t. That price seems to be on par for what it would be IMO.

  4. I have this model but 105 Di2, I bought it for $3800 on sale. It was $4500 new IIRC. The 2025 models they bumped the starting price MSRP of SLX 7 in the US

  5. If you’re new to cycling as you say, this isn’t the bike for you. Find your local Giant store and try a revolt (gravel) and a defy (road), go to a couple of local bike shops with selection of new and used and try different aluminum an carbon bikes.

As you start on cycling is a good idea to get additional support from the folks in the shop so they can help you find the right bike to start with

  6. 1. Ask for more photos of the bike. Various angles etc
If they can’t provide that then it’s clearly a scam.

    2. Ask for the serial number. That’s always a good way to check if it’s legit or stolen. If it’s clear then any seller would have no issue giving you that.

    3. If you go see it in person, bring a friend with you. Doing a deal or seeing someone for something this expensive that you’re questioning is always a good idea to have someone to keep you safe.

  7. Google “canyon aeroad seatpost problem”. Maybe it’s fixed. Maybe it’s not this year. Google it anyway.

  8. Get a proper bike fit before committing to something like this. 4k is a lot to spend especially for your first bike.
