Are all bh 90 barbs compatible?
The replacement ones I bought have 'straight' edges like the bottom version in picture which doc suggests aren't compatible. The barbs supplied in the hose kits have chamfered edges like the top version. The barbs I bought are definitely genuine Shimano bh90. 11.2mm long and silver.

So the big orange ‘WARNING’ isn’t clear enough? It clearly states that the barbs you have are not safe to use in that model of brake and gives you the correct model number. Shimano could have been more helpful by calling the revised design BH91 or something, I’ll give you that.
To complicate matters, I just looked at my stock of both BH59 and BH90 barbs (supplied from Shimano Aus directly) and both are chamfered on the inner face. Neither are ‘straight’.
