About me and this channel
Hi, I’m a Latina who moved to France seven years ago. I’m a psychologist and educator by background — someone who naturally loves helping others and chooses to see the positive side of life. Adapting to this new culture was a personal challenge, but it also opened my eyes to a world both unfamiliar and beautiful.
This channel was born from that experience: to show that on the French Riviera, luxury and everyday life aren’t opposites — they complement each other. Through immersive, silent walking tours — with no music and no commentary — I share the real atmosphere: quiet streets, local shops, seaside paths, and the peaceful rhythm of daily life.
Walking Riviera is a visual space where simplicity and elegance meet — created for those who want to slow down, observe, and truly experience this part of the world as it is lived.
Thanks!!!
Today we drive🚗✨ from the Moyenne Corniche in Beausoleil all the way to Ventimiglia, Italy. This scenic road was built in the early 20th century, offering one of the most beautiful drives on the French Riviera. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views over Monaco, the Mediterranean Sea, and the surrounding mountains. The Moyenne Corniche was inaugurated in 1928, connecting Nice to Menton with stunning panoramic views. It was considered a masterpiece of engineering at the time, cutting through rocks and perched over the coast. Driving along this road, every curve reveals another postcard view of the Riviera. In this part of the route we are in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is known for its medieval castle, perched high above the sea. Roquebrune also hides beautiful beaches and luxurious villas along the coastline. The Cap-Martin peninsula was once a retreat for European aristocracy and artists. Even today, it remains one of the Riviera’s most exclusive residential areas. Ahead lies Menton, the last French town before the Italian border. Menton is often called “The Pearl of France” thanks to its beauty and mild climate. Menton is also famous for its lemons, celebrated each February during the Lemon Festival. You can see that even though it's mid-September, people are still enjoying the beach. Generally in the afternoons the people of Menton enjoy a walk along the seafront, it is part of the local culture. It is really impressive to see the pastel colors of the facades of the buildings giving this peculiar and artistic touch to the city. As you can see, you will have restaurant options, most of which offer Mediterranean food. Facts about the city: Menton has inspired painters and writers, including Jean Cocteau, who lived and worked here. Did you know that pastel-colored facades were once painted with leftover ship paint: shiny and weather-resistant. We are approaching the border crossing between France🇫🇷 and Italy 🇮🇹 To my right is the famous MarAzul restaurant by chef Mauro Colagreco The crossing is quick, but the change in atmosphere is immediate. Welcome to Italy ,🇮🇹 as you can see it is super easy to move from one country to another. Architecture shifts, language changes, and the Italian Riviera welcomes us. As you can see, the vegetation here is abundant. As you can see, the architecture of this area is very Mediterranean, with pastel and earth colors predominating on the facades. The most wonderful thing is to see the color of the water from this point, can you imagine waking up every morning with such a view? We are now in Latte, a municipality in Ventimiglia, where hundreds of border crossers live here and work in Monaco. It is a reality that the vast majority of Monaco's workers are border workers, living in cheaper and more profitable cities. It is known that French people living near the border in cities like Menton, Cap Martin, Nice, come to Italy to do their shopping And I came to buy cigarettes, which are much cheaper than in France, where the price difference is double for a pack of cigarettes. This area where we are is called Ventimiglia Alta, and you can see the facades of its buildings are full of history. Generally, since this route is more panoramic, not many people take it; they prefer to go directly to the city center. Now we head towards the port and the beach area of the city. In this area you can find different beach clubs and restaurants where you can spend a pleasant time with your family. Now we go in the direction of the city center and we will see its promenade and the daily traffic of people Tips: Being a border city, finding a parking area can be difficult, especially during the summer season. Personally, this is one of the areas I like most in the city, because of the vibe and being so close to the Mediterranean sea. Of course, being an area near the sea, you can find a variety of restaurants, especially seafood. You can appreciate that the atmosphere is different from that of the French Riviera: more relaxed, authentic and lively. Our journey ends here, at the heart of this border town by the sea. Thank you for joining this drive along the Riviera, from Beausoleil to Ventimiglia. Don’t forget to subscribe for more immersive tours across the French and Italian Riviera.
