The Passerelle Mimram #bicyclebridge links Strasbourg, France to Kehl, Germany across the Rhine River and symbolizes unity between the two countries.
It was designed by Paris based Marc Mimram Architecture and completed in 2004. From the architect’s summary: “The bridge pays tribute to the river that runs beneath it, offering a timeless symbol of a delicately balanced meeting between nations.”
This awe-inspiring structure is polished stain steel, and is complex and weblike, featuring two intersecting decks, one at a horizontal curve and one at a vertical curve, and is supported by cables.
