Hi all,
Had some frequent creaking coming from the bottom bracket area and isolated it to the chainring bolts. Removed and applied anti seize to 3/4 of them as they were totally dry but one refused to unscrew. Eventually removed it and stripped the thread almost entirely from the crank arm.
Can this be saved at all?

Chainring bolts (and nuts, which is what you are showing in the photo) are easily replaced. Hit up your Local Bike Shop or bicycle co-op for a replacement.
ETA: disregard the above, u/ScootMaBoot is correct on this.
The threads in this are actually in the outer chainring, not in the crank arm or a separate part like more traditional cranks. You can replace the chainring but unfortunately it’s fairly expensive.

Regardless of the appearance (and, frankly, it’s hard to tell from the photos), if a *new* chainring bolt holds w/o threadlocker then I would ride this without a second thought. However, loose bolts are why rings fold, and as expensive as a new outer ring is, I’d much rather not FAFO in this instance.
