Continental tube had a puncture so I put it in some water to see where the leak was to make sure something wasn’t lingering in my tire. Interestingly it was directly opposite the valve stem right in the center of this oval shape that looks factory made.

Did you check the inside of your tire?
Had the bike been sitting for a long time?
Definitely haven’t seen anything like this.
That looks like a factory defect. Is this a new tube?
