Recently got (what appears to be) a 1978 Raleigh Super Course, but the brakes are terribly squishy and slow to release so I picked up the Jagwire Road Pro Brake Cable Kit to swap out.

This may have been a mistake as all the ferrules/end caps needed for compressionless housing are making this more difficult than anticipated. The kit comes with POP end caps that act as reducers to fit the brake calipers, which is simple enough.

What I didn't account for were the cable stops on the top tube. Do these require end caps as well? Or is the little hole that the cable goes through good enough to act like an end cap for compressionless housing?

Same with the brake levers: I know there's a white plastic brake ferrule under the hood, is an end cap still needed here too?
