Decided to drill holes on my steel frame's dropouts so I can mount a rack and carry stuff around town. I don't expect crazy loads, maybe 25lbs maximum. Sadly, I had to deface the Giant logo on both sides.
Does anyone think this will compromise the integrity of the frame? I rescued this bike from my local co-op's graveyard a few days ago, hence the "shoot first, ask questions later" approach!

It should be fine if you have 2 other good mounting points for the rack
You are fine. There is plenty of material there for it to be structurally sound.
Steel frame? Then yes. Aluminum frame? Probably. Anything else (which based on the pic, no) would be a no.
So yeah, you are 99% going to be fine.
I’ve been using one of these for years on 10s of thousands of commute and tour kms. Mounts at axle and brake mount on frame…. No need for holes and is more stable/can carry more weight.

I did the same thing many times and mostly got away with it. Not drilling the frame for a rack, but doing something and AFTER asking if it was ok.
This is basically how rack mount holes have been made for decades. You are going to be fine
No problem. And I don’t see a low weight limit either.
