Have been looking for a winter beater to deal with this shitty Chicago snow/rain weather and came across this Trek for $495.
Comes with everything shown in the photos. Bar mitts, fenders and studded tires.
Is this a good price or am I being impulsive?

How much would it cost you to build it? If you think it would cost more, I say go for it.
That’s a $100 bike with a $100 lbs tuneup and a few special winter parts. I don’t think that bike’s worth $500 bucks. You should be able to do much better with some patience.
Not sure what the used bike market is in Chicago, but this is like a $50-150 bike in my area (without the studded tires). $500 seems pretty steep to me

You could probably build this bike cheaper and learn how to put it together. But if you don’t have the time to do it then you could buy it here. That shop has a good reputation
