It’ll work, yeah, but it’s way less useful than the newer models like a wahoo kckr. No power metrics, and resistance comes from the physical interaction with your tire which will wear it down quickly (most people put on a dedicated trainer tire)
Edit: but if all you want to do is spin indoors, yeah it’ll work fine.

I used a fluid trainer for years! They work very well. People get really focused on metrics. This won’t give you any, so just ride. Ride hard. Base your workout on effort. As long as you are making tiny pools of sweet under your bike, you are headed in the right direction.
