Recently acquired a bike for urban exploration. I feel fortunate that I found a Ritchey in great condition with all original parts.
She’s pretty light, fun to ride and fun to jump off curbs and not worry about pot holes. I love it
I just replaced the wheels and saddle and I’m unsure on what to do next.
Anyone know how to take the shifters apart? They’re all gummed up.

Nice bike! Isn’t there a screw head below the shift mechanism? I think the bowl drops off after and you can clean and re-lube. Took me a few tries to get mine back to shifting fine.
beautiful bike!
I’ve had terrible experiences taking apart shifters- the springs zoing out and onto the floor, and I never get them back together. They’re cheap to buy, but – and here is the magic part – you can normally find some hole in the shifter body, through which you insert the tiny straw from a WD-40 can, wrap a rag around the shifter and spray into it while occasionally moving the shift lever. After a little while, the WD-40 cleans it all out and it’ll shift like new.
